Revealing the inside story of the Taliban’s control of his country’s embassy, Sigvald Hauge, Norwegian ambassador to Iran, tweeted that the Taliban had taken the control of their embassy in the country and carried out the destruction even as they promise to give the embassy back to them later.

Norway along with Denmark announced last month that they were closing their embassies in Kabul and started evacuating their staff. The decision was taken in the wake of the worsening security situation of security in the country. However, Norway was forced to stop the evacuation drive as the security situation in the country deteriorated further, thereby making it difficult for authorities to carry out the evacuation drive.

In the latest news, the Taliban have decided to allow around 200 foreign nationals to fly out of the country. This decision has been taken after the US completed the evacuation of its troops from Kabul. The decision will pave the way for the departure of the first international flights from the country since the Taliban captured Kabul city last month in August. This led to the chaotic retreat of US-led coalition forces and their nationals from the country. The US raced against the time to complete its evacuation deadline of 31st August 2021.
